Journey by Train

From the main station forecourt, the following trains run in the direction of the KIT:

  • S4 in the direction of Heilbronn  
  •  S7/S8 in the direction of Tullastraße
  • STR 2 in the direction of Wolfartsweier
  •  STR 3 in the direction of Rintheim

Take one of these trains and get off at the stop ‘Durlacher Tor / KIT Campus-Süd’. From there you can already see a large green building with the KIT logo, this is the institute building (building 10.23). Follow Kaiserstraße for about 200 metres to reach your destination.

  • From the North:
    Take the A5 motorway towards Karlsruhe/Basel and exit at Karlsruhe-Durlach. Drive in the direction of Karlsruhe.
     
  • From the South/Southwest:
    Take the A5 motorway towards Frankfurt and exit at Karlsruhe-Durlach towards Karlsruhe.
     
  • From the East:
    Coming from the A8 motorway, change to the A5 towards Frankfurt at the Karlsruhe triangle. Leave the motorway at the Karlsruhe-Durlach exit towards Karlsruhe.

    You are now on Durlacher Allee towards the city centre. Follow this straight ahead. At the sign "KIT (Karlsruhe Institute of Technology)" turn right into Adenauerring. Please enter the South Campus at the main entrance and use the call button on the barrier to state your reason for visiting. Please register with the secretariat in advance.

  • From Stuttgart  Airport you can reach Karlsruhe by car or train. There is a shuttle service to Stuttgart central station. Check the Deutsche Bahn timetable for further information on connections to Karlsruhe.
     
  • From Frankfurt Airport you can also reach Karlsruhe by car or train. Some trains depart directly from the airport. Use the Deutsche Bahn timetable information to find a connection to Karlsruhe (starting point: "Frankfurt M Flugh." or "Frankfurt Main Hbf").
